There are excellent motorway links – Valencia airport can be reached in just half an hour. As you would expect of one of Spain’s main rice growing regions, paella is one of the staple dishes – though with every town and village having its own variation, you will never get bored. There is a superb golf course at Alenda, just 10 kilometres away and – if you really need a beach fix – the coast is about 35 kilometres from Petrer.
