Villamarchante, or to give it its official Valencian name, Vilamarxant, offers a tranquil rural idyll with the 'safety net' of the cosmopolitan city of Valencia only around a 25 minute drive away. Little more than a village, Villamarchante is peaceful and sleepy – with only a handful of shops, restaurants and bars. This is rural Spain – if you want loud bars, designer shops and nightlife, then Villamarchante isn't the place for you. A car is essential but you won't have to venture far for more adventure – the popular Costa Azahar beach resorts of Playa de Farnals and Sagunto are only about 20 kilometres away, there are several championship golf courses within easy reach (Escorpion, Manises, El Bosque and El Saler), and for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and even white water rafting you couldn't choose a better area.

The airport at Valencia is around a 25 minute drive, and Alicante airport is around an hour and three quarters' drive away so getting to this part of Spain is simple.
